Picsel files patent infringement lawsuit against Apple

Glasgow-based Picsel (Research) Ltd. and Picsel Technologies Ltd. have filed a lawsuit against Apple claiming they are infringing on their owned patented technologies in products including iPhone and iPod Touch.

Picsel is claiming that these products from Apple incorporate Picsel-patented technology that facilitates rapid redrawing of content displayed on devices’ screens.

The technology enables the user to zoom in and out of pages and images without reloading them.

The lawsuit does not ask for specific damages for these infringements. But the company does claim that they have invested millions of dollars developing the technology.

Apple has declined to comment on this latest lawsuit.
