LG Electronics to launch 50 Windows Mobile powered models
US based software giant Microsoft has announced that they are collaborating with LG Electronics.
LG would now launch as many as 50 mobile phones powered by Windows Mobile operating system.
This would help Microsoft in enhancing their market share in the smartphone segment which is increasingly becoming more and more competitive.
Apple iPhone is a major player along with Research in Motion’s Blackberry.
Google Android is expected to see major boost this year with launch of new phones.
LG currently has Windows Mobile on only one of their existing models.
Symbian is currently the dominating mobile platform in the market. Nokia owns this platform and they are working on making available an open source edition next year.
