Acer launches Tempo range of smartphones

Acer is the latest player in the mobile phone market.

The company has now introduced their Tempo range of smartphones at the mobile world congress.

The Acer Tempo range is largely a result of Acer buying Taiwanese smartphone maker E-Ten last year.

Acer M900 is based on Windows Mobile operating system. It features a QWERTY keyboard, a 3.8-inch screen, and a fingerprint scanner for authentication. The device supports HSDPA (High-Speed Download Packet Access) and GPS. It also comes loaded with a 5-megapixel camera.

Acer F900 features a 3.8-inch screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It supports HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) and Wi-Fi.

In all, the company has launched four models: Tempo X960, F900, M900, and DX900.

Acer said that both of these models would start shipping in the coming months.

They are also now working on a new series of smartphones which would be powered with Windows Mobile 6.5.
