State Bank of India: Exclusive Booking Agent for Tata Nano!?
SBI chief general manager Jayanta Kumar Sinha has been quoted as saying that the State Bank of India has been named the exclusive booking agent for the Tata Nano small car.
Tata Motors is expected to launch the Nano small car in the coming months.
The booking is expected to be open in the coming weeks.
Tata Nano at launch would become the cheapest car on sale in the world.
Tata has for now declined to comment on these reports. A formal announcement could be made in the coming days.
It remains to be seen how the company manages to meet the initial demand for Nano which is expected to be massive.
Market experts already believe that the car would be sold at high prices in the black market and genuine customers might have to wait for a couple of months or even years before they can get their hands on a unit.
