Dell applies to get Psion Teklogix’s registered trademark (Netbook) canceled
US based personal computer maker Dell has filed a petition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
It is seeking the cancellation of Psion Teklogix’s registered trademark term Netbook.
Netbooks have become massively popular in the recent times.
Acer started the trend with their EEE PC range of netbooks.
Now, almost every major PC manufacturer has netbook models available on sale. Apple is an exception here though.
Netbooks are basically notebooks but with less powerful configurations.
They are designed to act as second machines at home for general computing purposes like surfing and checking emails.
These are also being targeted in emerging markets as primary computers for low income households.
