Chery Automobile shows its first electric car
Chery Automobile has become the latest Chinese automobile manufacturer to showcase an electric car.
The company announced the all electric S18 which has a capacity to go 150 kilometers on a single recharge.
Chery said that the car has a top speed of 120 kilometers an hour.
The car can be fully recharged within six hours through a standard 220-volt home outlet.
The company claims that the car can be charged 80% within just 30 minutes.
Chery also promises that the car would be affordable when launched.
BYD is another company which has entered the eco-friendly car market. The company is offering its plug-in electric hybrid car F3DM that can travel 100 kilometers on its battery, or 580 kilometers in hybrid mode with petrol.
