India aims to have an astronaut in space by 2015
ISRO is working hard on a plan which aims to put an Indian astronaut in space by 2015.
China has already accomplished this feat and India does not want to be left far behind.
Indian Space Research Organization has said that they are aiming to put two people into orbit 171 miles above the Earth for seven days.
This project has been approved by the Indian planning commission.
Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the Planning Commission spoke about its approval to the plan: “ISRO has done an expert job and it needs to be supported.”
The project still needs to be approved by the Indian cabinet.
