Toyota Prius displayed at the International Engineering and Technology Fair in Bangalore

Japanese automaker Toyota was at the International Engineering and Technology Fair in Bangalore.

The auto industry giant showcased their much loved Prius hybrid car at this event.

The company said that they are working on launching a small car in the Indian market by the end of next year.

A Toyota representative said: “The small car will be entirely new, designed specifically for the Indian market. Work on our second plant in Bangalore is on schedule and some of the additional capacity will be for the small car”.

It spoke about the possibility of Prius being launched in the Indian market: “The Indian market may not be ready yet for the Prius. It can be made here if the government extends the kind of tax concessions available in Europe and Japan itself. We are in talks with the Indian government about this.”
