OWC launches 8x external Blu-ray Disc drive for PC and Macs
Other World Computing has announced the launch of their latest product which is a 8x external Blu-ray Disc drive.
This drive works with both Windows and Mac OS X machines.
They are offering this drive for USD 400.
OWC said that the drive features four different interfaces for connectivity: USB 2.0, FireWire 800 and FireWire 400, and External Serial ATA.
The drive is capable of burning up to 50GB of data on a single dual-layer BD-R disc.
Incidentally, Apple Mac OS X is not yet capable of playing Blu-Ray movies but the drives can still be used for data storage and retrieval.
The drive is also backward compatible with DVD-RAM, DVD Dual-Layer and Single-Layer discs, DVD R/RW and CD-R/RW media.
