Marvell launches tiny Linux computer named SheevaPlug
Marvell has announced the launch of their latest product which is almost a personal computer.
They call it SheevaPlug and it is part of the company’s Plug Computing initiative.
This mini computer is so small that it fits in a plug sized unit. And it can be plugged right into a power socket.
The company claims that this unit consumes less than a tenth of the power of a typical PC and it can work as a decent home server.
They have loaded this device with a Marvell Kirkwood processor running at 1.2GHz along with 512 megabytes of flash memory storage and 512MB DRAM.
It can be connected to your home network through a gigabit Ethernet.
It also comes with a USB 2.0 connector which can be used to attach additional storage units.
