Hearst is said to be working on their own electronic reader which could be launched in the coming months.

The company is hoping that this new electronic reader would revolutionize reading magazines on the move.

It would become the latest challenger to the Amazon Kindle. Amazon has just launched the second generation Kindle in the market.

Sources say that the Hearst’s device features a large-format screen which suits the reading and advertising requirements of newspapers and magazines.

Company representative Kenneth Bronfin said in a statement: “I can’t tell you the details of what we are doing, but I can say we are keenly interested in this, and expect these devices will be a big part of our future.”
