The Foundry Co. has been established
Advanced Micro Devices has confirmed that they have signed the deal with Advanced Technology Investment Co. and Mubadala Development Co. of Abu Dhabi.
This deal sees the creation of The Foundry Co.
The Foundry Co. would now be building a chip fab in the Luther Forest Technology Campus in Malta.
It would also now takeover AMD’s manufacturing plants located in Dresden, Germany.
Dirk Meyer, AMD’s president and CEO spoke about the new developments: “We are confident that this strategy and partnership will enable AMD to achieve long-term success based on designing and integrating industry-leading computing and graphics technologies that deliver compelling user experiences.”
