Nokia 5800 launch has problems in the US market

Market sources say that Nokia is facing problems with the US version of their recently launched mobile phone Nokia 5800.

Sources say that some stores are pulling the model from the shelves. Customers are being offered the European version instead.

Nokia had launched this Apple iPhone challenger last week. It is being sold for $399 before taxes and subsidies in the U.S. market.

Sources say that the problem lies with the earpieces which seems to be lacking proper moisture protection. As a result the speakers get damaged.

Some users are also facing connectivity problems with the AT&T 3G network.

Nokia had this to say on the reports in the media: “Customer satisfaction and product quality are very important to Nokia and we take all quality and customer satisfaction-related issues seriously. Nokia is investigating the issue.”
