Inquisitor is a plug in for Apple Safari web browser which auto-completes queries and delivers results right in Safari Web browser.

This feature is similar to the Yahoo’s own Search Assist technology but works on the Apple Mac platform in Safari.

The company said that the newly launched edition of Inquisitor is free of affiliate ad links. The latest edition also simplifies the search provider selection interaction and refines the preferences user interface.

Software giant Microsoft has released yet another updated edition of their search engine on Live.com.

The page sports a new color theme though the result pages seem to have the older interface.

There is nothing exceptional about this update visually.

Yahoo has been doing better things with their search as they have just made available the Glue Pages Beta feature in India which is rather innovative in comparison.

Microsoft needs to do more with their search engine to pose any threat to Google and Yahoo.

Their attempts to acquire Yahoo to enhance their search engine market share have failed and this new update is not likely to help them much.

Google owned video sharing service YouTube now has an Indian edition.

The company said that the localized Indian edition features a localized home page plus search functions.

YouTube India would focus on showcasing videos which are popular amongst Indian web users.

They are also planning to have an entirely ‘local’ flavor and feature content and functionality targeted at the Indian audience.

Steve Chen, chief technology officer and co-founder of YouTube spoke about YouTube India: “We are very excited to bring a local version of YouTube to India considering the passion of users here for music and entertainment. For a culture that is steeped both in video and in storytelling, and where everyone has a voice — YouTube India will not only offer Indian users more relevant content but also provide a platform to share India’s unique and diverse culture and lifestyle with the largest online video community in the world.”

Sakina Arsiwala, international manager of YouTube added: “YouTube allows anyone with a simple Web camera or even a cell phone to create content, connect, and converse with each other through the medium of video. It provides a powerful way for people to express themselves. From a home video to a magic show to classroom lectures or working professionals connecting with their families in another city, YouTube is about communication and not just entertainment.”

Google is working along with partners UTV, NDTV, India TV, Zoom TV, Rajshri Films, Eros Entertainment, IIFA, the Ministry of Tourism, IIT Delhi, and KrishCricket on this new online destination.

The company released their product roadmap for servers and workstations for the next two years.

AMD is working on launching its first six-core chip next year and a 12-core processor on a new platform in the first half of 2010.

These two product range are named Istanbul and Magny-Cours respectively. All of these processors would be based on 45-nanometer technology.

Motion Picture Association of America has now won a major lawsuit against the torrent search engine service TorrentSpy.com.

Incidentally, TorrentSpy has already closed their operations.

The service has been told to pay $30,000 per violation for nearly 3,700 illegal movies and TV show downloads.

MPAA said that this judgment would send a strong signal to copyright violators.

TorrentSpy had stopped operating earlier this year as they said that the legal hassles were becoming too hard for them to continue with the service.

Strangely enough, the service just used to provide access to torrent files and had never hosted copyrighted media itself.
